Kate Potts and Belinda Norman
During Kate's first few years of teaching she completed her MA in music education which allowed her to pursue the study of different teaching & learning styles in the primary and secondary music curriculum.
Kate has a keen interest in the way children learn and how classroom practice impacts on pupils progress. She has planned and delivered training sessions for a variety of delegates including; whole staff INSET for specific schools, Sutton LEA Teaching and Learning Conference, SSAT National Conferences and the Annual Music Expo.
Kate is a qualified course facilitator for Olevi's 'Outstanding teaching programme' and supports new teachers in a variety of schools via her SLE role. Kate currently co-leads the ITT Professional Studies programme for Sutton SCITT.
As a Senior Lead Practitioner Belinda has had extensive responsibility within a number of areas including Director of Sport, AST in Initial Teacher Training, Assistant Head Teacher, PCM and learning coach on the NPQML. Belinda has over twenty years teaching experience and now teaches in Sutton in the lead school at the Teaching School Alliance overseeing the Sutton SCITT.
Her role involves leading aspects on the Sutton SCITT and jointly leading the Professional Studies with the trainees. She has facilitated a number of training session and INSET days and has worked successfully with staff in both her school and other schools to help raise standards in teaching and learning. A large part of her role involves supporting colleagues. As a Lead Practitioner, she has a secure awareness of what constitutes outstanding teaching and has a great deal of experience supporting other staff in the development of their own practice. In 2010 she completed her Masters in Education.
Belinda currently teach across all Key Stages and keeps up to date with new initiatives. Previously she has worked within the SSCO scheme, working closely with primary schools, supporting the delivery of specific training needs.
