As a SCITT, both our routes are school-led, school-based and school-focused so you will be interviewed by colleagues in our schools, based in schools and trained within our partnership of schools. Schools in the partnership are commited to training you because they are commited to improving the life chances of young people. We invest in you because we know our schools and children will benefit.

What are the pathways we offer into teaching and which is best for you?

Core SCITT Programme

Core SCITT is an entirely school based course providing practical training underpinned by theoretical taught subject and professional studies sessions leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). In addition, you will complete two written assignments with our partner HEI, UCL Institute of Education which will enable you to achieve a PGCE (worth 60 credits towards your Master’s degree).

School Direct Salaried

We offer a limited number of School Direct Salaried places in priority secondary subjects, leading to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This route is open to graduates with at least 3 years experience in the workplace.

Trainees on the School Direct Salaried programme will be employed directly by a school for the duration of their training and will not necessarily be 'supernumerary', i.e. they may be required to teach a timetable from the outset.

For this reason we are looking for potential trainees with relevant skills and experience over and above that required to train via Core SCITT.
